주한 이탈리아 무관실, 이탈리아 공군 설립 100주년 기념식 진행 주한 이탈리아 무관실을 이끄는 니콜라 지간테 대령은 3월 31일 이탈리아 공군 설립 100주년을 맞이해 이를 축하하는 기념식을 진행했다.
이탈리아 홍보관 하이스트리트 이탈리아에서 진행된 이번 행사에는 페데리코 파일라 주한 이탈리아 대사도 참석했다.
100주년 행사에는 이 외에도 한국에 주재하는 20여개국 무관과 유엔군 사령부, 한국 국방부 및 방산 산업 관계자들이 참여했다. 지간테 대령은 기념식에서 이탈리아 공군의 역사와 NATO 및 국제사회에서의 역할에 관해 설명했다.
기념식에 참석한 페데리코 파일라 주한 이탈리아 대사는 ‘오늘 참석해 주신 귀빈 여러분은 이탈리아 공군의 노력이 그동안 한국과 국제 사회에서 인정받았음을 방증합니다. 공군 창설 100주년을 기념하며 남녀를 막론하고 지난 백 년동안 조직을 위해 기여하고 희생한 모든 공군을 기억합니다’ 라고 전했다.
On the occasion of the centenary of the Italian Air Force, celebrated on March 28, the Office of the Defense Attaché in South Korea, Col. Nicola Gigante, organized a celebration ceremony on Friday March 31, at the presence of the Ambassador of Italy in Seoul, Federico Failla. The celebrations were held at the prestigious showroom of Italy in Seoul, High Street Italia. The event was attended by the Defense Attachés of 20 Nations accredited in South Korea as well as Korean authorities and industry and the representatives of the United Nations Command. Colonel Gigante spoke during the event, retracing the history of the Italian Air Force, from its foundation to the role it plays within NATO, and its contribution to international missions. "This important milestone achieved by the Italian Air Force is recognized by South Korea and the international community, as evidenced by the presence at today's event of leading figures from the military and non-military world", Ambassador Federico Failla said for the occasion. "We are pleased to have highlighted the history of our Air Force, recalling the commitment and sacrifice of the women and men who are and have been part of it in the last hundred years", he added.
한편, 주한이탈리아대사관은 이탈리아 정부를 대리하여 한국과 이탈리아 간 정치・경제・영사・문화교류 등의 업무를 수행하며 양국의 우호적인 협력을 위해 다양한 노력을 기울이고 있다.
